BIO-15 // 500 Watt RMS 15 Inch Car Subwoofer

Purchased CT SOUNDS Single 15" Dual voice coil 4 ohm subwoofer, used other brand 23hz tuned vented box, used other brand amplifier 800.4 bridge tested at 600 watts 1ohm and 300 watts 4ohm, 2 gauge power, 12 gauge ofc speaker wire.

Having been used to the SQL quality of JL Audio subs, here is my honest review.

JL Audio really has a sound like no other, the fullness and quality of the sound from their subs are truly unsurpassed. However, Ct Sounds does produce a good sub at a good price. I tested the sub at 600 watts @ 1 ohm and 300 watts at 4 ohms. I currently am running the sub wiring at 8ohm configuration with a bridged amp for 2ohm for 4 ohms 300 watts rms.

What the sub DOES: The sub does hit hard at the 600 watt level. The sub does fill up the car space at the 300 watt level. If you're looking for something to fill the car cabin and not upset the neighbors, the 8ohm configuration absolutely does this.

What the sub DOESN'T do: Even in a 23hz vented enclosure, the sub does not hit the low lows loudly, in either 2ohm or 8ohm wiring. Yes you can hear them but the loudness isn't in the lows its in the higher end of the lows. Having said that, and knowing I am not running 1000 watts to it, it does very well at either configuration. Possibly due to the box, the sub does not hit all of the regular bass you would hear in bass boosted music or in regular rap like juvenile.

I was most afraid I would not have a sun that would hit the notes I wanted to hear, but this was NOT the case. For a $100 sub, it is 100% worth it. Please also note I have only been using the sub for about 8 hours over 4 days and the sound quality does typically improve the more you use a sub.

Would I buy this again? Yes. I think if anyone loves bass they would love this speaker. But when my first sub was a JL audio, it absolutely ruins you for any other sub. Even with that being the case, I am absolutely pleased with this sub, and then next 15 I get will again be from CT Sounds as I'm sure that the better the sub model, the better the sound.

I’m not sure what you’re you’re expecting for 100$ driver. The Bio 15 almost certainly delivers just a notch or two above that expectation. Surprisingly large motor. Cone material is nice. Surround is supple. All around very well put together at such cost. Sounds like you’d want a 15 to. I’m using in a home audio application and it does the trick! If you’re thinking about buying one- you should do it. Even if you paid more this woofer leaves nothing to complain about

Well of course it killed that pyle that I just was using in a p.a. box, but I'm going to get a custom made box for my basement of boom.

Fast service and a quality product!

Bought 4 of these subs have them wired to 1 ohm and put them in the back of my Tahoe. I had 4 jlaudio 10w3s before and I'm running the cts off the same amp I had for the jls and these are so much louder than anything I've heard I love them so much
