Many vehicle manufacturers (Ford, Chevy, Toyota, etc.) have very shallow speaker slots which makes it challenging to install aftermarket speakers without the window glass hitting the speaker magnet when rolling it down. To prevent this issue, you need to add spacers to lift the speaker, however, this creates a new problem where the speaker starts to contact the door panel due to cone excursion. The CT Sounds Tropo 5x7” has a 1.57” mounting depth (unheard of!) and is the only 5x7” speaker in car audio that offers a solution at the 60-watt rms power level.
